The Stibbert Museum was a vast and impressive collection of military gear and weapons. I was very impressed with the grandness of the museum and how detailed it was. Personally, I felt overwhelmed by all the museum had to offer. There was just so much detail to everything that I could not focus my attention. I took in many of the rooms as a whole. The walls were covered in leather and tapestries. There were many portraits and a great deal of metal body armor. Then, of course there was a great amount of weapons. I found the museum to be very interesting, however I did not find that I could relate to it. It was not my favorite museum. I understand that it is an incredible museum within Florence, and I understand how impressive it is, but it was not my "cup of tea".
I did however found it very interesting to see how grand Stibbert's house was and yet his bedroom was so small. It seems like he really enjoyed collecting these pieces, which truly are magnificant and beautiful. I find it very impressive that he could collect as many weapons and armor that he did in his lifetime. I am glad to have visited this museum, and to have experienced it.
The two following pictures are used from the Stibbert Museum website. They show very well how much detail there was in many of the rooms that I found to be overwhelming.
